This is a bug that is easily demonstrated, both in Finale 2005 (which I use) and 2007 (which I've bought but don't use). Two important preparations will enable this method to work well:ġ) Before saving the MIDI in CakeWalk, quantise any free-entered (ie, played-in) music, and adjust all note durations to be 100% of their staff-view values.Ģ) Before loading the MIDI in Finale, set the Quantisation Settings to detect the shortest possible durations, for example as shown here:ĭon't be tempted to set the "EDUs" to much less than 64, as shown above - at really small settings, Finale will crash when transcribing MIDI or even when retranscribing existing notation data. Jared: Id think Sibelius 5 may well just crash during playback. It can actually play the music (and sing with synth voice, too). I'd simply do (3) - ie save the MIDI in CakeWalk, import the MIDI in Finale. What he should do is uninstall and reinstall his pdf reader. There is essentially no such thing as 'too many files, folders, documents, programs, etc.' The only negative aspect of having too many things is they use more disk space. You will need to experiment to see what works best in your case. Therefore, your PC crashes whenever you try to open a PDF file.
